Absinthe?

This is a way off the subject topic...I was wondering if anyone had ever had/tried Absinthe? I received some as a Christmas present and have enjoyed it very much. Was wondering if anyone else out there has tried it?

never, but I read it can ber really addictive and it's forbidden in almost all countries

been drinking the green ones a couple of times in Paris.
like it, but if i understood right, it hasn't got the same effect or poison as it had way back

Yes! That's what I ws hoping for! ;-)

However, I'm in the US and I'm thinking the green absinthe I have called Absente is not the exact equivalent of some of the more potent European brands. Would you have a recommendation? Mine did come w the spoon. I enjoyed two glasses w cold water and sugarcube New year's Eve and it was very nice indeed.
