Thanks for pointing this out Natasha - first I've heard of it. I travel by train every day at the moment so I will let you know ASAP what's happening in my part of the country. Fingers and toes crossed!!! This will also affect people attending the YMO concert on Sunday - couldn't they wait til the following weekend to protest!!!

Update: I've just had a look on the National Rail Enquiries website and at the moment there are no planned strikes for 14th except on East Midlands Trains. Of course this could change during the week. Also people travelling by train please check if your route is going to be affected by engineering works, and those of us using the underground please check the Transport for London website for line and station closures. For example I hope to use the Victoria line next weekend, but this weekend it is completely closed down. SO double check before you travel!

Yes, apparently it is supposed to be East Midlands only - which may affect me coming home because I'm meant to be going via Sheffield :? but not on the way down which is Northern and Virgin. Let's face it, getting there is the important bit, not getting home!!!

Greetings all

I'd hate to think of people being stranded though; especially if people live far away. Also, if there is intended strike action, I can't see it being called off, given the government's current stance so those services they say will be affected, I would assume will be affected.

Oo look a shiny thing....

Doesn't look like I'm gonna make the meet - Its a busy week for gigs and I'll be travelling and keeping my old bones together - especially as we have a lot of gear to drag round with us. I do hope you all have a fabulous time  I will be expecting to read all about it in here the week after with green envy.
PS Hope the trains don't mess it all up...UK in the summertime eh!?!

Are you worried that if you stop in the middle of a busy street someone will mistake you for a zebra crossing...?

Only joking... shame you can't come. But there WILL be another one!

You sound a bit like Yoda...

"He was our last hope"

"No, there is another..."

On teh subject of movies, I watched Lion for Lambs tonight. Thoroughly recommended. Nice to see some joined up thinking for once in Hollywood.

Sorry, mumsie. Is that better?

Ooo another shiny thing...

Camphorvan - what did I just say to you? Do not call me mum, mumsie, mummy, mom, ma or mammy in public. If it happens again I wont be responsible for the consequences!

Zebra - you can't come on Saturday - Oh! That is DISAPPOINTING! We Will have another meeting at some point I'm sure. Did someone say September??? So that means there will now be 11 of us. Is that right Natasha? Will have to alter booking with the scary restaurant manager!!!

But yes I DID say September - unless you all want to come to Italy for a meetup when I'm over there for 4 weeks!!!

Do you ever get the sense that the grown ups are organising things and small, daft children are running about their legs, mucking about?!

Right. Who wants to play fire engines?

Possibly the best fire engine clip I have seen. Ever.

What happened to those days eh? Ok the production year was 5 years before my time but I remember (what must have been repeats of) Andy Pandy and Bill and Ben.

Also; Roobarb and Custard (never liked it that much - I didn't like the animation - a discerning 5 year old I think you'll find(!)), The Flumps (how cool were they?), Ivor the Engine, and so on. Was it me or were kids programmes just more innocent and moral? The flea bitten Hartley Hare used to scare the bejesus out of me though. You can just tell he was an ex heroin addict.

Anyway...How did we get from a Japan/Sylvian meet up to Hartley Hare on Heroin....it was me again wasn't it?

Err, that'll be a yes. I used to love Hartley Hare. He was extremely annoying but that was just part of his heroin withdrawal symptoms, along with the rolling eyes and the frothing at the mouth, oh no, hang on a mo that's Myxomatosis isn't it? I ALWAYS get that mixed up with Cold Turkey...
