Personal Highlight of the Tour

Postby Slope on Sat Oct 20, 2007 12:13 pm

Hello all, new to the forum - I've been following the careers of the Japan members since 1978.

Having seen Sylvian/Jansen a few times over the years, a personal highlight from the World Is Everything tour has been the consistently superb performances by Steve Jansen.

My username suggests a certain bias :D , but he really is putting in the performances of a lifetime, and the inclusion of Playground Martyrs is, IMHO, a wonderful addition to the set.

He could be the MVP of this whole tour IMHO.

When it was announced that Steve would be touring with David, I thought, WOW! The icing on the cake :-)
What more can I say but: WOW! I absolutely love Playground Martyrs.
I could see him very well in Groningen and even after a few times I still can't work out some of those drumfills...but I love them all.

When it was announced he was touring.
Though it quickly went down hill after that
And there you stand, Making my life possible
Raise my hands up to heaven, But only you could know

In Amsterdam he was great!!!
I was always very David focused, but since rediscovering him and Japan
throug internet, I have gained much respect for Steve's music too.
Thinking about ordering Slope soon.
