Love, love, love it when I discover a new artist that completely blows me away. While on her fourth album, I just heard Bat for Lashes for the first time last week...I am in love. Wonderful music in the genre of artists such as Kate Bush, Mimi Goese, Jane Siberry, Portishead, and Bjork. Hear for yourself:

Aye Tin, she's a great artist ... maybe not quite up there with Bush for me, but very interesting and distinctive. I'm not as drawn to her latest LP (The Bride) as much as her previous work, with Two Suns being my favourite, but it's still a very good album.

Its a great feeling when you find a new (to you) artist... esp. when they already have a few LP's out so you can immerse yourself in their world.

Yesterday I came across Agnes Obel, who I'd not heard of before... her new LP (out Oct 21st) Citizen of Glass... sounds like she might be another interesting artist to follow. She reminds me a little of Susanne Sundfør.
