I know we're all Japan and Sylvian obsessors, but...

As far as hard rock/ and heavy metal, it's pretty across the board.

Japan (Nuff' said.)

Mott the Hoople

Coverdale era Deep Purple

Vinnie Vincent (Alot of people hate him, but I love his playing.)

Celtic Frost

Bathory (Swedish black metal)

Hanoi Rocks (Brilliant band)

Sweet (Especially Level Headed, and Off the Record)

Alice Cooper (Especially albums like DA DA, Special Forces, and LAW)

Cheap Trick (Another all time favorite. Their 80's output is so underrated)

Whitesnake (Especially the early stuff, like Live...In the heart of the city)

Scorpions (Another all time favorite..mostly the 70's stuff with Uli Roth)

MSG (Michael Schenker is my all time favorite guitar player amazing tone)

Rainbow (Especially the Joe Lynn Turner Era)

Malmsteen (Favorite albums are Eclipse and Fire and Ice. Goran Edman is on of my all time favorite singers.)

Bulletboys (Really good. Totally better than most hair bands, especially ZA ZA)

The less moody synths of hysterical cryin' - the better!
for the last few years right after falling in love with those pretty reflections on 2nd Street I came to:
>>Hanoi Rocks
>>Cheap Trick
>>Gene Loves Jezebel
> Blondie
> NY Dolls
> Wild Horse
> Girl
> Thin Lizzy
> Cinderella
> Crashdiet
> Negative
> Dingo
> Talk Talk
> A-Ha

Honey, Japan looks like a pretty exception among the cool rockers like Whitesnake and Alice Cooper! :-D
Cheers for Cheap Trick! I do really adore them! (off-topic: Nasty Suicide "Nasse" listed Cheap Trick's "Heaven Tonight" as one of his fav albums back in '82!)
