Magazine Alert - Progressive Rock

Postby heartofdavid on Fri Jul 20, 2007 5:50 am

Classic Rock has a special issue out devoted to the History of Progressive Rock. Very much worth getting if you're interested in this genre. Features on Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd, Can, King Crimson and others, as well as a rundown on bands in progressive metal, folk, nu-progressive, fusion and more. There are half page articles with pics about Porcupine Tree and Opeth.

Classic Rock is a PT lover, so sure they say interesting things about them ;)

I am quite new to prog-rock so to speak so I'll try to get it, always good learning!

You can usually find it at Borders, if you have one nearby.

Sometimes I find it at B&N too. $7 tho. Usually keeps me off getting it. I'll read any articles I'm interested in tho. B&N with enough chairs it's like a library that serves coffee! :D

It is. I live near Chicago - picked up my copy at a suburban Barnes & Noble.

It is expensive, I think this issue was even more. It's a nice one to keep though, lot of information, like having a mini-reference guide.

Thanks for the info. The nearest B& N to me is 1 1/2 hours away though. Only ones close to me are Borders and Books-a-Million. Hope that changes soon---they are building a rather large shopping center on the outer edge of town---keeping fingers crossed for a big book store, if not an Old Navy as well

You know, I was thinking I had read that right before I posted, but was too lazy to go back and look :-D Thanks for being observant there Gods. Our borders is kinda small though---used to be a Waldenbooks with just a small space in the mall at New Bern---but will check them out if I get up that way this weekend.
