various music by david

Come on guys.... I suppose someone had to like those cds as they sold some copies. I can't even deal listening to them though. Simon sounds worse than awful and with all the noise going on in them its not even remotely like-able. I love ambient sound being incorporated into music .... i just prefer when its well done. The fact that warren had a HUGE influence on pop trash is another down point for me. His taste in pretty much everything is in his mouth. His playing is ok... no passion in it though. Pretty much like his love making... its all for show and not much substance.

I too hope that Andy is not forsaking the group again. However, I will completely respect his decision if the new cd is leaning towards this hip hop trash that Timberland seems to produce. Sure its all catchy and sell-able but completely soulless. And, come on lets me straight here.... Simon doing hip hop vocals??? I mean it doesn't get much more laughable than that. With this style of music being oriented around technology and a strong beat there is no room for hot guitaring anyway. And, honestly if the record company disliked their original effort then SOD 'EM! This is the time you stand up and say F*CK YOU and produce the kind of work you want to on a smaller label and scale. We've made this band incredibly rich so if they are still after the all mighty dollar then I feel abit sorry that perhaps Andy is the only member with a strong level of moral fortitude.

i thought @ 1 point DD was going back to their new romantic roots....that's why i couldn't wait to hear their new album, but i have to admit, i wasn't into their Medazzaland era, i enjoyed their Rio & 7&TRT era :), it's sad to hear the official news about Andy leaving, i wish him the very best in the future.....

wow i can not believe its over.... they recaptured the magic for about the same amount of time as the first time around. LOL... However, if they bring warren back i'm SO not giving them one more cent of my money.
Andy Taylor is a passionate rock guitarist and a soulful opinionated compassionate man. I really do hope he does something solo again. I love him.

Personally, I think Warren Cuccurullo is one of the most versatile, skilled and underrated guitarists on the planet. I love the work he did with DD, but it's hard to grasp the full extent of his talent from those few albums. Add in the work he did with Frank Zappa and Lakshminarayana Shankar along with his solo albums and you get a picture of a guitarist whose instrumental chops are almost literally all over the global map. If it weren't for his eclecticism I'm sure he'd be praised as one of the world's great guitarists, alongside bigger names like Joe Satriani, Adrian Belew, Allan Holdsworth and Pat Metheney.

I like Andy alright, but it's the carefully sculpted tonalities of "Land" and the intricate flamenco of "Breath After Breath" that rock my world!

Warren is a great guitarist, luv him in Missing Persons....but i think Domonic Brown is doing a wonderful job as well :), but i wonder why Andy left this 2nd time around, perhaps, helping his son ( Andy, Jr ) w/ his band, Electric City or does he have another interest, but who knows....i can't wait to hear the new album & hopefully see the guys in action sometime next year :), that is so cool Xx_Vanity_xX, i have to get a copy of The Very Best Of Japan :)......@ the moment, i'm listening to:

Milla Jovovich - Charlie

If you haven't discovered yet her wonderful first album , 'The Divine Comedy' , then you don't know what you're missing!!! It's just so beautiful and refreshing!! I can't believe she wrote it when she was just 19!! And I can't believe why she's still doing those horrible action movies when she has such a great talent for music...

HOLY CRAP..... I HAVE LOVED LOVED LOVED MILLA JOVOVICH's cd since it originally came out! I started with the tape and moved on to cd when those came around. I SO wish she had done another cd. I think she is/was completely original at the time and so talented! Loved her homeland influences in the music. The tunes also sort of remind me of a travelling gypsy.... Love It.... I listened to her the other day. I can't just listen to one!

She actually has another album called 'The peopletree sessions' but it's completly different from The Divine Comedy. It's very electronic and I don't like it very much.
I know she had a rock band called Plastic Has Memory, but they didn't released any material as far as I know.

'The peopletree sessions' was released in 1998.
And, Yes, The Divine Comedy is such a lovely album!!! You are right, you can't listen to just one song from that album!!!!
Clock and In a glade are two songs I could be listening forever!!Though I actually love all the songs on that album :-D
