missouriman / absolutely fantastic group. Their album ´9´ was one of my favourite releases of 2009. August or September should see the release of ´10´ I´ve just learned...

Or try Hamada by Nils Petter Molvaer - stunning production via Jan Bang. The Norwegian Jazz scence is producing some stunning albums at present and well worth investigating if you've enjoyed Jan's new album. If you're an audiophile you'll really appreciate the attention to detail.

the three labels that are most interesting for me at the moment (and I don't see that changing anytime soon...) are Samadhi Sound, Runegrammofon, and Erstwhile Records.

(19.07.10) supersilent "10" scheduled to be out on 30 august 2010.
rune grammofon: the very first recordings they did as a trio. made at oslo's famous rainbow studio, it's the most acoustic offering from the group and features some of the best music we've ever heard from the band.

rune grammofon has revealed that the band may release "11" in the autumn of this year, and possibly also "12".

also, they are performing at this year's Punkt Festival in Kristiansand Norway; 3rd en 4th of September. Sadly I can't justify going...

While dogsitting this weekend, I listened to the disc which my sister-in-law had left it in her player at the house - The latest by none other than Tom Jones .. Praise & Blame. Now Jones is not usually my preferred type of listening, but I am very impressed with how darn good this release actually is. It is as if all the participants soaked up a great deal of the Rick Rubin projects for Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond and then mixed that influence with the aura of Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Allison Krauss.
And that huge voice which Jones possesses sounds excellent when placed in an age appropriate context. I predict some Grammy nominations at the very least.

Ozzy Osbourne's "Scream" CD. The Ozzman still rocks and the video to "I Want to Hear You Scream" is one of my all time favorites. Long live the Ozzman! :D

M83 - Slight Night Shiver

And now Dame Evelyn Glennie... playing something, I don't know what, but it sounds nice and made me stop to listen.

supersilent '10' has been released, but I won't get it until the end of september, because '11' is available for pre-order and together it saves me money on shipping (not that much, but still, it's good to exercise restraint every once in a while...)

I recently purchased a lovely box set by The Police it's called" Message in a box" and contains every track the band ever recorded(78 to be exact) and a book which is sort of a short biography. Been listening to it quite a lot and one thing that has struck me ,especially on some of the earlier recordings , is what an superb drummer Stewert Copeland is.His overall percussion style really comes over really well. I was also thinking how nice it would be if Japan had released such an item, i know record company conflicts probably veto this idea though.

I've been playing The Suburbs by The Arcade Fire rather often since I got it two weeks ago, and it's a brilliant album that keeps growing.
And I'm going to see them live tonight. :D
