well to be totally honest none of the acts appearing have any other meaning or value to me than indeed their retro-ness; I have a lot of memories of being in my teens when these bands had hits and I'd appreciate the fun of seeing them perform, but (sadly) none of them have any lasting musical value for me .... now if Japan or Duran Duran or The Fixx or a band like that were present

eacht to their won though - if you are into these acts massively I can see how this would be a dream coome true!

cheers

Eric

PS I do admit to being curious about ABC and their live set; I loved the Lexicon of Love, Beauty stab and the album with 'When Smok ey Sings' on it!

Nothing like a good dose of nostalgia!
If Mr S wasn't on tour,I'd be very tempted to catch this...

I don't think this would be the sort of festival Japan (if they were to reform under that name) would be interested in doing. They, unlike most of these groups on the list, aren't retro. I don't think they'd want to do a rehash of old hits. I think what they are doing now is much more important and timely.

Having said that, it might be interesting to catch a bit of this show.

That looks like a fun weekend. The line up is good but I agree having a few more of my faves on there would be even better. Wonder why DD is not part of that. And the Fixx is still working as well---wonder where they are?

I don't think D would like appearing at Retrofest either, same reasons as Proggrl said about Japan!
