Rereading your posts I have to add I am another Level 42 fan and proud of it! Mark King's talents never cease to amaze me. I'm a frustrated bass player (which means, I can't play at all but wish I could) and I've been that since my dad bring their first album home back then. From then on I've had a total fixation on bass players, LOL! (except that in the Japan case I went for the drummer ;))

There's also a Spanish band (or was, because now they have somehow split up) that I love, called Presuntos Implicados (probably just Poisoned_Apathy knows them and probably she hates them too :P). One of their members released 2 albums (soon to be 3) under the name Logan and they are very Sylvian influenced. He's a huge David fan, we have had convesations about him many times.

Why do you say that?? Well, they're not one of my favourite bands, but there are a few songs that I love from them... It's true it's not the type of music I use to listen to more, but they're good. And, in my opinion, Soledad has one the greatest voices in Spanish popular music.

María, I am just too accustomed, after being a Presuntos fan since 1985, that people automatically look at me like I just said something real weird. But guess that it happens the same with the Durans, LOL! Glad to hear that you have a good opinion about them. And yep, Sole has an incredible voice.

Juan Luis is a huge David fan. I remember once, when he took some of us back home after a gig, and he was playing "Dead bees on a cake" at the car. I thought it was real cool. He also lists some of David's records as his faves and talked about it in a book that appeared a few years ago about the band.

I think that his Logan project is very sylvianesque somehow. He also made a King Crimson cover in the second album, lots of connections!

If anyone wants to check, here's his site (just in Spanish):

Hi John, glad that you liked it. It's a pity that not so many of his fans know about this project of his. He got awesome reviews for it though. I think he made a good job with MoonChild and can't wait to see what he makes in his 3rd Logan album. I wish he made a version of a David song, but I'm not sure if he would dare. He made a version of a Stina song on his first album though!

I pretty much like every band that were created in the 1980's and before. New Romantics in particular just because their style and music was so out there and new.

But i love 70's disco music too. I love Leo Sayer's stuff, he's got such an unusual voice. ABBA too are pretty good.

In temrs of music around these days, i'm not so in love with it. It takes alot for me to find a song good from some of todays modern bands.
A few well known british bands (over here, not so much in the states or elsewhere) have started to write some really awesome stuff.
I quite like the 'Empire' album by Kasabian. The title track is fantastic, it really is.
Regina Spektor i think is a genius.
Amy Winehouse, though some people hate her, has one heck of a voice on her.
Kaiser Cheifs are alright, although their new album isn't as good as i hoped.

And i'll say this. What really is HIp Hop and RnB all about? It's absolute rubbish, who wants to listen to Snoop Fogg and 50 Cent...really? C'mon, get a life.
Yeah, intelligent input darling why don't you just have another beer then.
