Wow, quite a loop you have going there....I view it as part of my life's work to turn as many people on to those albums as possible...I've literally bought numerous copies of the cd's for friends over the years 90% have become converts!

I'm probably going to be sent poison pen letters for saying this, but I've always thought Brilliant Trees was stylistically closer to being the final Japan album than the first Sylvian solo album. A very fine album it is, too.

I'm currently listening to a vintage Furniture bootleg.

I think that way too, I mean the only thing it's really missing is the influence of the bass because all the other textures and everything else on it is totally Japan. I also agree that it is a fine album, beautiful, it actually took me a long time before I could work it out of my system after I first heard it. Reminds me vividly of that point in my life being freezing cold at bus stops in the dark.

Where "Brilliant Trees" the song itself especially would just reduce me to spontaneous tears. Preciousness.

I am currently listening to a lot of Bjork, wondering how it took me so long to worship her like the goddess she is.

Specifically at the moment I am listening to "Oceania" in an obsessive loop, it just steals me away the most fragile beautiful thing I've heard. Not merely gorgeous but interesting too the way the song is completley composed of voices.
