Thanks for the links, Meyrav. I wonder who that is playing sax on "Second That Emotion", looks like a woman from the back?

Absolutley brilliant!!! I've never seen anything from the last show and I still can't quite believe what I've just seen - a panda on stage with Mr S!!! :D Thanks Moodyb and Meyrav!!!!

The sax player is Jane Shorter who was a full time music student that they hired so that Mick could play bass on tour - at least thats what it says in this article on the Nightporter site....

The final show looks like an end of year school party-with all the human puppets walking around the stage, the champagne, and everyone is so happy and singing together with Mick including John Penter(correct me if i'm wrong).
Also i love the way David head butting the puppet at the beginning :smt033

I think that if I was there i would've cry so hard, cause it's so sad it's all over :smt089 I wouldn't care they tried to make it look happy.

That video from the last show is soooo funny!
At a certain point I thought it was Paul McCartney playing the bass, Mick wobbles his head just like him! Brilliant.

Is this the last, last, last ever show Japan did? Wow if so...and also...yeah...pandas....hmmm....one of my favourite animals AND Japan together? All my dreams have come true....Now I just have to try and find that elusive Metallica and Chinchila collaboration...

It wasn't working before, probably the fault of my supersonic 10 year old computer. I commented it on youtube two days ago, it's an incredible live performance, my favorite of that song :)

Meyrav - thanks for that. Yes he does walk off very very fast. Probably scared that the panda might turn vicious at any moment because of a lack of bamboo (geddit? bamboo? the Japan fanzine 'Bamboo'? No? oh ok...)

You're very much welcome indeed!
Now if I can find the disc, I'll post more from the final show, I had wanted in particular to post Fall In Love With Me, complete with the ping pong balls...Yes, really, ping pong balls!

Glad you are all enjoying the clips!
I just added Preparations From A Journey yesterday too.

Best wishes,
Chris

Oh my ping pong balls?? Synchronised ping pong balls?

LOL best band evah.

Needless to say I really, really hope you find the disc because I think that sounds like the best Japan clip ever, no matter what I said about the last show one with the panda costume and the clown.

Although I said as much on YouTube THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH for putting these things up.

:D :D

I saw Preparations on a Journey last night and was gonna comment there but I may as well here as all I wanted to say was TANKS. My favourite thing was how much mileage Sylvian got out of the mesmerisingly beautiful koi carp... :D

:D :D

Apologies for going all hysterical and smiley face there but these things make me THAT happy :D :D
