What other artists and bands does you enjoy ("Gasp- there are bands other than Japan?" )?

My other favourites are Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Blondie, Roxy Music, Joy Division, New Order, and Ultravox.

And then I also like ABC, Arcadia, Adam and the Ants, Associates, David Bowie, Cocteau Twins, Echo and the Bunnymen, Brian Eno, Bryan Ferry, Peter Gabriel, Hanoi Rocks, INXS, Manic Street Preachers, Marillion, Morrissey, New York Dolls, OMD, Pet Shop Boys, Porcupine Tree, Prince, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Simple Minds, Split Enz, and Talk Talk.

Heh, I sort of copied most of that from my MySpace list, which explains the alphabetical order.

And then there's probably more that I forgot on my last.fm (by clicking the chart in my signature).

This list could continue forever for me. I do like most of the bands you listed, lgs, some more than others, though. I'm mostly as my moniker suggests, a prog fan. My tops are:

Echolyn
Porcupine Tree
Kate Bush (why third? She really is in a league of her own, beyond all others, but I do have to be fair to everyone else)
Marillion
Tool
Sylvian's in here of course!
John Wesley

Currently:
- Nosound
- Other Steve Wilson projects
- Anekdoten
- Timothy Pure
- Ravana
- The Mars Volta
- Other Tim Bowness projects
- The Cure
- Laurie Anderson
- Riverside
- Anethema
- Faith No More
- Pure Reason Revolution
- OK, I'll put in the Duran's
- OK, I'll stop now before this gets obnoxious. I do have a good list going on my Myspace page, you can check out the rest there. It's mostly unheard of stuff anyway

these aren't in any order... just a short list of some of my favs.
Duran Duran, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, and so many more the list would be endless. These few are my mainstays... obviously David being NO. 1.

Off the top of my head- Talk Talk, Depeche Mode, Flock of Seagulls, Madness (I learned the sax part for "One Step Beyond" for the talent show- But it was cancelled!), Thomas Dolby, Oingo Boingo, Aha, Midnight Oil, Talking Heads, U2, The Police, Psychadelic Furs, The Romantics, Yello, Tears for Fears, Spandau Ballet- And a lot more I can't think of right at the moment ;-)

But my absolute favorite is, and will Always be Japan and David Sylvian!

Bryan Ferry / Roxy Music
The Blue Nile
Nick Drake

There's many more of course, a bigger list can be found on my MySpace profile:

Agreed. That one was spun quite a few times by me. Then... I spun it a few more times. After that, I would play it again.

Well, I do enjoy 80s music like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Ultravox and A-ha. Also a certain number of bands from that period. Besides, there is gothic rock like Bauhaus (I got into it and Murphy solo work after Dalis Car). And synth-pop - mostly Camuflage, And one, De/Vision.

My recent fascination is Jrock - Japanese rock if you don't know what I'm talking about.
