I've listening to british rock band Snow Patrol a lot these days. Their new album 'Eyes open' is their greatest in my opinion. It's powerful and have great melodies.

I have "Eyes Open," and I agree...it's a wonderful listen. Reminds me at times of U2, but even that isn't a bad thing since I love U2.

I'm currently relistening to Blemish(the album.) I've been playing David's solo stuff on my ipod all day.

EDIT: and Kinki, I'm not that familiar with Madonna, but I love the album that had "Like A Prayer" on it(I forget what it's called though.) I have a tape copy of that record around somewhere.

I just turned on Robert Fripp's 1993 live album, "A Blessing Of Tears." I bought it recently and haven't listened to it yet - so far, it's incredible. :D

I think Placebo are great as well and think that their 'Without You I'm Nothing' album is a masterpiece. The 'Dog Man Star' album by Suede is another favourite of mine and probably the best album of the 90's - do you agree?

David

Without you I'm nothing will always be my favourite Placebo album and one of my favourite albums. And Dog Man Star is my favourite Suede album!! I don't know if it's the best album of the 90's , but one of them, for sure. I'm specially fond of 'Coming up' since I knew them with that album and it's a very important album for me personally...I think I almost can say that Coming up changed my life!! :P

John Wesley - Under the Red and White Sky.

Stunnily beautiful, not to be listened to alone, in the dark, or after a break up. It'll rip your heart out enough on it's own. It doesn't need any help. The raw painful emotion of John's voice, the soft saddness and stinging power of the the music will hit your ears, tearing every thing inside you apart until it reaches your heart which it will take for it's very own and you may never see it again!
Trust the proggrl.

Robert Fripp & Brian Eno - The Equatorial Stars(2005)

This album is an incredible collection of new ambient music from the collaborative and creative minds of Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. Close to 30 years after they released their ambient masterpiece, "Evening Star", the two musicians have come back together and created their best work to date. I highly recommend this to anybody who likes ambient, and most of all, relaxing and beautiful instrumental music.

today i'm checking out a new band to me.... 30 seconds to mars. The song "the kill" piqued my interest. iTunes has a nice selection from this band. Doesn't hurt that Jared Leto is the lead vocalist either ;-)

Anyone else familiar?

I'm going to have to listen to them one of these days. My best friend told me she likes them a lot so I'll go bug her for some songs.

I've heard of them and gave them a listen a few years ago, I don't remember if I liked them or not, ha ha, so I'll have to give them another go.

And now I'm listening to Hiroshima Mon Amour by Ultravox.

i'm playing Assassin by Muse from their new album. It's very loud and i'm tempted to start 'air guitar'-ing any minute now!! (maybe not, don't want to embarrass myself in the office...)

This is a brilliant CD though, I recommend it.

Knights of Cydonia is my favourite song for now.

Yes, I love that track too - especially from 3 minutes & 22 seconds onwards. I also like 'Map of the Problematique' & 'City of Delusion'

Lately The Wren's "The Meadowlands" has been residing in the old boombox. I'd describe it as Franz Ferdinand meets Gram Parsons.

Also listening to the new Hyde album, "Faith."
