My first day at school as a New Romantic...

Off-topic area for general discussion of NON-Japan/Sylvian related subjects.

I went out with some friends this weekend and one (an older friend) was telling how her school had a dress code. All the girls had to wear dresses, (very convenient in the winter) so one day they all decided to wear jeans. Since they couldn't send all the girls home, there was nothing they could really do about it. The girls did this every day until the board finally caved and they did away with the 'dress' code.

Might be a little hint in there for ya, Kera! ;) BTW - that dress code of your school is beyond logic. For what you're left with, they might as well give you a uniform!

Yeah- I agree! Last year we were supposed to do a protest (Stupidest thing ever) Everyone was going to sit out in their cars NOT in dresscode and not enter the school until the school board gave in. NEVER HAPPENED. That day, only like 8 kids were outside protesting... IN DRESSCODE. They weren't even fired up about it! 2 friends of mine and I were going to protest the real way, but we couldn't get any followers b/c NO ONE has any guts at my school...

Of course, everyone else is like "It's no big deal..." or "Get a life..." or "Just lose weight" or my personal favorite... "Just get over it." But they are just a bunch of preps after all!

It just seems as though it'd make their jobs easier (the school administration) if they just implemented a uniform policy as opposed to having a list of 1000 things that you can't wear.

I recall that we were once going to stage a protest for some odd reason, but it never happened because no-one cared. I think that's seen everywhere. Maybe about 10% of the students care but the others, like you said, resign and just tell everyone else to "get over it". And then the irony is that you can't accomplish anything unless you work together.

Exactly! Nothing big ever became accomplished by just "getting over it..."

You go girl! Good for you dressing the way you want and not caring about others around you. I have seen your Sylvian hair in the galleries and i must say it looks very cool. Im gonna go for the big hair look too and sack what everyone else thinks, the fact im never out a suit will tie in well.

Japanfan - Just curios- Are you in high school??

Just be warned- My hair has caused me to be late many-a-day in arriving to school... And the days that I actually get my hair fixed by 6:30... I get stuck behind some bus or old granny or something!! ;-)

If you must know, im a hearing aid audiologist and i work with the elderly. The other reason for a 10am start is to allow my clients to get up and ready for me arriving.

Good. Because I think that is very admirable of you to help that very precious portion of our population (of which my Mum is---she is 84 and a cutie pie).

I knew you were good people!!!!
