Totally agree.

So you're saying there isn't one chance that there might have been some talk between "all" the musicians (sorry, but I consider David Sylvian as one) about who should be credited?

David for me has always been a man of integrity and honesty and what ever has happened during the process of these sessions i am totally at ease in accepting his credits during what is by normal standards not your usual pop song writing process. There are always different view points and different takes on everything and its great to hear everyones opinions. We will never get the complete picture i suspect on anything the uber enigmatic Mr Sylvian does but for the majority of us on here that is all part of his charm and one of the reasons we are all so utterly hooked on his work and so much more.

I'm not questioning his integrity or honesty, just to be clear.

Just thought I'd add my tuppence worth here;

For myself, I would imagine that those musicians or otherwise have been credited for helping to write the songs, whether their musical contribution made the final cut or not. I can understand the question, because the credits don't necessarily match with the musical contributors on each track, but to suggest there is some underhand motive at work I think is a step too far. The creation of the music (no I won't pretentiously call it 'the work') is in a sense, none of our damn business anyway - we get the product, the final article. When directors make a movie or produce a play, do we feel it's our business to question the creation of it? No. We, as an audience get to see the result of the blood, sweat and tears, not the blood, sweat and tears themselves. It is the function of a 'record' for it to be listened to. Maybe, though, the function of the DVD is to allow us into the world of the recording process, as an audience. So, I think waiting and not judging might be a good idea, as opposed to leaping to conclusions.

I also heard he's re-forming Japan and doing a performance of the entire Adolescent Sex record at Glastonbury next year. Dressed as a clown.

Bit disturbing how this guy can post a review on Amazon.de though could be just made up stuff - If not, how did he get hold of Manafon....? When they seem to control this release much harder. No mention on his multiply. com webpage unless another guy.

Could well be from a promo CD maybe? Don't they send those out prior to release? I don't really know. Maybe he's a DJ or works for a radio station or something.

Yeah, it appears as though Fred didn't write the review - he merely translated it. I believe that if Fred had heard Manafon and wrote a review, there would be much more detail. This particular review is fairly vague and could leave one to assume that the writer hasn't actually heard the cd yet and is basing his or her observations on what has been previously written about the release.
